The forthcoming sequel 7 Artists 7 Days LITERALLY  will re-exhibit the Artists from 7 Artists 7 Days in order to auction each of them for commissioning engagements to the highest eBay bidder. The exhibition / auction will provide the winning bidder, the opportunity to engage directly with their chosen Artist in developing an artwork brief, concept and then pathway to the final fabrication of commissioned work. The resulting work will then be jointly owned by the Commissioner and Artist which may in turn be auctioned on eBay should the pair so choose.

The exhibition 7 Artists 7 Days LITERALLY , curated by Louise Rollman, will present contemporary works by Artists Victor Berezovsky, Common Criminal, Andrea Eckersley, Shauna Haider aka Nubby Twiglet, Alice Lang, Anna Mayer Anna Varendorff and Simon Wong online at eBay .

In this sneak-peek to 7 Artists 7 Days LITERALLY we profile 'Grotto', a gathering of recent forms by New Zealand Artist  Victor Berezovsky . The installed work treated the Conical enclosure space as a sanctuary of binary formalism, a space that figuratively echoes and encompasses. Morphic shadows seem to have fossilized and carbonised on the walls, but despite their solidity these forms seem to pool and leak, expand and contract with palpable physics both recognisable and alien. They appear as an enormous sign language standing in for landforms, bodies of water, crevices, organisms, some kind of geological archive. Edges wobble and straighten, tense between uncertainty and sureness like tide lines or acretions of process.

The Proposed Commissioning Process envisages that the Client (winning bidder) will literally take an active part in the development of re-realising the site-specific work/s. Clients are requested to submit a brief proposal that outlines the intended use and location of the work For example, an interior wall of a house. The Artist is also interested to know why the Client has selected the particular image and why they have chosen their location for the work. After receiving this brief proposal, the Artist will forward instructions for installing the work. The Artist will be available to discuss the ‘how to' of installing the work for up to 1 month. This would include discussion about appropriate scale of the work for the site. Ultimately, the Client will be responsible for installation. Key materials required for the installation are: gesso, brushes and a projector (which can be easily hired). The Artist requests a photo of the finished work. There will be three different winning bidders, one bidder per Grotto image.

Born in 1974, Victor  Berezovsky completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Ilam, Canterbury University, majoring in painting in 1995. Currently he lives, shows and works in Wellington as a full time artist. For the last few years he has dealt predominantly with biomorphic forms and aspects of primitivism which he refers to as doodles. victorberezovsky.co.nz

The project intends to shift accountability to Artists and audience in genuinely determining the value of experimental works; including process, instructions for making work, components of installations, new media series and multiples. Longer-term the project intends to develop site-specific works (group and solo) through experimenting with the parameters of eBay.
